New Standards and Specifications Officially Implemented
The national standards in the gas fire suppression field have undergone significant updates, which will have a profound impact on the industry.
GB 25972-2024: This new national standard will be officially implemented starting December 1, 2025, replacing the previous GB 25972-2010. It primarily adds regulations for externally stored pressure heptafluoropropane (HFC-227ea) fire extinguishing systems, supplements requirements for components under extreme temperature conditions, and emphasizes the application of the Fire Internet of Things (IoT), mandating that systems possess status monitoring and data platform functionalities, along with requirements for valve status signal feedback.
GB 16670-2025: This standard adjusts the maximum filling density of HFC-227ea extinguishing agent (reduced from 1.15 kg/L to 1.05 kg/L), tightens the allowable deviation for the activation pressure of safety relief devices, and mandates the integration of intelligent monitoring components (e.g., pressure and temperature sensors) into the equipment to enable under-pressure alarms.
GB 16808-2025: The new standard strengthens the intelligent monitoring functions of controllers, adds communication interface requirements with graphical display devices in fire control rooms, and improves power supply fault tolerance (battery life ≥ 8 hours after main power loss). This standard is scheduled for implementation on August 1, 2026.
